How I Think Avengers Infinity War Will End

Spoilers only if I’m right!

So, this is pure speculation based on a few clues and character actions within the MCU that revolve around Tony Stark. Tony is played as a very emotionally driven character with that emotion often being guilt. He wants to prevent the vision that he saw in Age of Ulton. We saw in Civil War that he can be very quick to shift gears and act on a little bit of information even if it means fighting his friend. We also know Marvel to deliver moments that are straight from the comics. Sometimes, they are either well earned or done in a way that the audience didn’t see coming. In the trailers we see Gamora giving exposition to Tony and she snaps her fingers. This is how I think Infinity War will end.

Thanos has been separated from a completed infinity glove and is unconscious on the ground.

He is temporally defeated but it cost the lives of all the avengers except Tony.

Tony looks out over the battlefield, seeing the bodies of his fallen comrades.

The vision that he failed to prevent.

He looks over at Peter Parker and runs to him.

Holding Peter’s body in his arms, his sorrow turns to rage.

He looks over at Thanos just lying on the ground. Then he looks over at the infinity glove.

(The camera cuts to a close up of Thanos’s face.)

Thanos starts to wake and he looks up.

Tony is standing over him, looking pissed. (Camera is waste up.)

Tony raises his hand into frame as if to punch.

(He’s wearing the infinity glove that reformed to his hand.)

He hesitates. Then snaps his fingers.

(Post Credits Scene)

(Camera fades in to a profile of Nick Fury looking out the window of Tony Stark’s house.)

He starts repeating the dialogue from his first appearance.

When he gets to “you’ve become part of a much bigger universe, you just don’t know,” he get’s interrupted by a voice saying, “Actually Fury, about that.”

The voice belongs to (insert any character here).

(Scene ends with a shot of a very confused Nick Fury.)

Update: 4-28-19

Okay so when Infinity War came out I was only right about Peter Parker biting it in front of Tony Stark. I was assuming incorrectly that it was only one story. Instead it was the story of Thanos to be followed the story of the Avengers in a later movie. Endgame would be that story of the Avengers. The ending moment of Tony using the glove to defeat Thanos, I incorrectly predicted for Infinity War. It totally happened in Endgame though! I had figured out a over a year ago but was off by one movie! Did I spoiler it for myself? No, it was awesome to see the scene I wanted play out in front of me!
